Why Now Is the Right Time For FinTech Compliance Accelerator and Emerging Markets?

Published by Yana on

If you are like many of my followers, you may be asking yourself a question, whether or not now is the right time for you to invest time and money in the FCA Program, when so many other things are uncertain and up in the air.

To answer this question, I’d like to share with you a story from a bestselling book “Klara and the Sun”, a novel about artificial intelligence by Kazuo Ishiguro. The story is written “on behalf of” an Artificial Friend (AF) robot Klara. Klara is programmed to anticipate the wishes and needs of humans, be a “people pleaser” and a “good friend”. She finds it hard to actually please members of the family where she lives because humans don’t know what they want, what would make them happy, and send wrong signals. Klara finds it hard to understand, what’s wrong and why people are unhappy, despite the fact that she does what they ask her to do.

One of the issues Klara identifies is that humans need “friends” (comfort, connection, and trust), “society” (sense of fulfillment, status, respect, and validation), and “store managers” (guides, independent advisors) which are all important. It just so happens in the book that humans seek to satisfy these needs with the wrong types of people and get disappointed. Without too many spoiler alerts or too much philosophy, I would just say that that seeking fulfillment or respect with friends leads to being needy and insecure, seeking comfort and connection at work leads to complacency and poor performance, and having no mentors or guides leads nowhere.

So, if you are asking yourself whether now is the right time to invest in your career advancement when so you are not even sure if you know enough about compliance? Or maybe it’s better to continue and figure things out on your own?

This is actually the wrong question to ask because every successful professional will tell you that they got where they are because they had mentors, external advice, and support from more experienced people in the field.

So the more powerful question you should be asking WHO can support you and WHERE you can find help and continued guidance?

Many FinTech compliance professionals know in their heart that they need to better manage their time, be more confident and assertive asking for resources, be more strategic… but still they find themselves hesitant, lacking confidence, and not doing what they should be doing. They seek guidance with friends and other smart people around them, but your circle of friends may not necessarily have the experience in the areas where you want to grow.

Whenever I choose mentors or ask for advice, I look at two main criteria:

  • Does this person follow what they teach and do they have the results I want in their own life?
  • Have they produced the results for others (meaning can they transfer their experience and actually help others apply it)?

And as you already know, if you to do choose nothing… it’s not just that nothing changes, things will get worse.

I don’t know about you, but I personally feel that it’s clear why European authorities and governments have completely lost their moral superiority and any right to teach the rest of the world how things should be done and what is right or wrong. Making “safe” and “balanced” choices, delaying decisions, waiting for more information or better timing just made things ridiculously worse in Europe.

If you are still here and still reading and thinking that you just cannot find the time to join, this may actually be a wake-up call, an example of how you refused to do what’s important and prioritize your long-term goals in other areas of your job or career, waiting for better timing or more clarity.

  • Are you going to be a person who plays a victim of circumstances or takes responsibility?
  • A person who sees obstacles or opportunities?
  • A person who waits for the perfect time or the person who knows when enough excuses are enough excuses, and it’s time to take action even when you don’t have all the answers?

Well, if you are an action taker and ready to commit, simply click the button below and I will be waiting for you inside of FinTech Compliance Accelerator. The doors are closing on June 1st, 2021 at midnight and it will be quite some time before you have a chance to join again.
