Create Your FinTech Privacy Policy Without Relying On Privacy Shield Even When You Have US Service Providers

Published by Yana on

Yes, you heard it right – I’m offering you to join 2-day mini-training with the goal to teach you how to create or revise your FinTech or E-Commerce company Privacy Policy without relying on the EU-US Privacy Shield even when you have US-based vendors or service providers. The workshop takes place on October 1st and October 2nd.

Why it’s important and timely?

Because a lot of opportunistic people around you may be trying to convince you that removal of the Privacy Shield is the next big regulatory Skyfall event and you should be scared about it and expect major consequences, especially if you use US-based cloud services, such as Google, AWS, BitGo, Azure, Trulioo, Chainalysis, Salesforce, etc. My goal is to show you how to make simple changes and adapt your Privacy Policy and contractual framework without undertaking a massive regulatory project.

Why it makes your life easier over long-term?

The Catch22 of the Compliance Profession can be summarized as:

  • I love learning new skills and I really need to learn something new every day to do my job, but…
  • I don’t feel quite appreciated for my contribution and knowledge, people bombard me with questions, get their answers and go away – they don’t even realize how much work I actually put into it to be able to help them.

When I asked my peers what’s the area they want to know more of, but never got the time to do it (or did not know how to start) – the answer was overwhelming “PRIVACY”!!! Because privacy touches everything from AML to marketing to fraud management to accounting.

At the same time, when I asked “what’s your biggest frustration?” – one of the most common answers have been “not feeling appreciated” or “not knowing how to confidently talk about my accomplishments and the real value I add to the business”.

Well – I have something prepared just for you if you can relate to these sentiments.

Most people never read most privacy policies they accept – and it’s unfortunate. Actually, it’s a HUGE misconception and myth that data protection is complex.

It is not as complex as you expect and you need to master it, because you cannot protect your business from disputes or complaints, if you don’t know and understand, what’s in your privacy policy.

If you feel that it’s probably easier to write War and Peace than to write an average Privacy Policy – it’s my goal to show you that actually Privacy Policy is a lot of fun and can be super easy to prepare!

“But I don’t have the time…!!!”

I hear you. Here is what we will do – in just 2 days, using short templates I will guide you through all major sections of the Privacy Policy.

HERE IS THE AGENDA FOR OCTOBER 1-2nd 2020 LIVE TRAINING:

Day 1: Information we collect from our about customers. Q&A.

Day 2: How we use and share information and what are our customers’ rights. How to organize your Privacy Policy without relying on the Privacy Shield. Q&A.

You will also get access to the past recordings of similar training devoted to the privacy policy topic if you would like to dive deeper:

Agenda included in recorded video training:

  1. Day 1. Information the company collects from the customers
  2. Day 2. Information the company collects about customers from other sources such as device information, credit checks or sanctions lists
  3. Day 3. How the company will use the information and with whom customer information will be shared
  4. Day 4. Customer rights with respect to their access to information, their right to change their preferences, opt-out and other rights they have
  5. Day 5. There is also a number of small housekeeping segments within each Privacy Policy, such as introduction, where the company is defined, and some concluding remarks, addressing the issues of how the policy can be updated and how the customer can get in touch with the company if they have questions.

Someone asked me about why did I decide to charge 47 EUR for this workshop this year when I offered a very similar one last year for free. Yes, last year I offered 2 similar workshops and in total over 800 people registered, however, only 35% of them actually joined the training calls or watched the recordings. So, here are my reasons:

  • When I switched to paid workshops, 100% of the paying customers join the calls, watch recordings, and download templates. Most of them ask questions and follow up with more questions after the training. Mentality and attitude change dramatically. Paying a small fee somehow ensures that people take action and get things done, they are committed and when they show up, they stay focused.
  • I actually enjoy the conversation much better, when I know that the audience has high expectations.
  • Since I know that everyone who joins the workshop will take action and wants to solve some open issues within their business, I decided to shift the discussion from purely educational (learning about privacy policy requirements) to action-focused (what is the role and impact of each privacy policy section, what difference does it make when you use certain language, how to address the Privacy Shield aspect, what to answer if your customers have questions).
